“The main thing I have is my taste. That’s what I have to offer. And I think LA especially appreciates that.” Devin Lucien is a true son of Los Angeles, a born and raised product of the city. His signature sound is what has made him one of the most requested and admired DJ’s in the states and around the globe. When he speaks about his upbringing and parents, it becomes apparent that Lucien was practically destined to DJ. “I wouldn’t watch kid shows. My parents would just put on MTV, it was that era - it was Michael Jackson and Madonna. And they made me cassettes. My parents made me my first mix tapes I guess. And they had a massive record collection.” Their records covered everything from funk and soul to classic rock and oldies. His eclectic musical knowledge and forward taste in today’s developing music world have allowed him to become a staple at both the biggest nightclubs in the world and high profile corporate events.

Given his success, few realize the amount of hustle and work Lucien put in to get there. “I was working after college and meeting a lot of people. I just decided to start my own parties and hire myself to DJ. Since no one would hire me I was like ‘F*** it.’” He continues, “I would give mix tapes and CDs to like every club promoter. And finally got hired at Area back in they day. And then started booking gigs.” His work has more than paid off.

Lucien has been fortunate enough to play for a long list of clients that include Range Rover, OK Magazine, Bing, Playboy, DreamWorks, L’Oreal, Hulu and MOCA. Devin was chosen by Microsoft to spin at the openings of their 75 retail stores across the globe. Devin played a prominent role during the Microsoft concert series, which was included in their grand opening celebrations. He has also found fans among fellow artists. He has been hired by the likes of Sophia Coppola and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and has had the privilege of opening up for Lenny Kravitz, Kelly Clarkson, The Black Keys, Maroon 5, Flo Rida and Weezer. He has been featured in numerous publications including Vanity Fair, Angeleno Magazine, US Weekly, OK Magazine and InTouch. Warner Brothers hired Lucien as a music consultant for their film Project X. He helped hand select the music featured on the film’s soundtrack, which hit #1 on iTunes the week of its release.

Though he now frequently splits time between Los Angeles and Nashville, Lucien has become widely know for his signature Hollywood event - a weekly residency at Warwick “If I had to say a favorite gig it would be Warwick Wednesdays. I always make sure I’m in town.” And for its part, Los Angeles is always happy to have him curate its night.
